NOTE 1: Time stamps on maps reflect the time map images were captured from the screen; not the time that position reports were actually received. The actual reports may be several  hours old. Use the links at the bottom of this page to get detailed "last heard" information.

All times shown are local (U.S. Pacific) time.

NOTE 2: Turn off image resizing in your browser.
Modern browsers often try to downsize large images to fit the current window. Thin lines on the maps will appear scratchy and illegible if your web browser tries to reduce the size of the images.  The US map below is about 1800 x 950 pixels. You will have to scroll to see the eastern and southeastern US (unless you have a 1280x1024 pixel  SXGA display.)
NOTE 3: US National Weather Service warning zones show up as red-colored overlays on the HF map.

NOTE:  As of mid July 2009, WXSVR (the APRS virtual igate that provides the weather data to the APRS Internet system to light up the warning zones) has gone offline, and has been replaced by the new server AE5PL-WX.

Map on this page (below) shows off-the-air 10.149 MHz 30-meter HF, as monitored in Pasadena, California from 300 baud HF port of KAM TNC.  WA8LMF mobile, as received from HF RF and/or 2M via APRS Internet system, will show if I am in the area of this map.

More information on HF APRS operation here:  http://wa8lmf.net/aprs/HF_APRS_Notes.htm .

WARNING!  Very Large Map of Entire Continental U.S.
Scroll right and down to see east coast and south-east areas.

PLEASE NOTE!!  Due to the current incredibly low  solar activity level and low sunspot count, the HF MUF (Maximum Usable Frequency) has been horribly low, closing 30 meters  for many hours a day at this location .  If you see WA8LMF mobile (but nothing else) on the map below, my receiver is on, but the band is dead again!   (Since WA8LMF is plotted from both off-air 30M reception, and from the APRS Internet feed, I continue to show even if the band is dead.)

Click Here to view 144.39 MHz 2-meter VHF activity in southern California, as monitored off-the-air in Pasadena, California from VHF port of KAM TNC.   This map does not scroll -- the view is fixed. WA8LMF mobile as received from RF and/or APRS Internet system will show, if I am in the area of this map.  Also includes UI Network Analysis and UI-Traffic stats for Southern California.
Click Here to view medium-scale  map   centered around WA8LMF's current (or last received) location from APRS Internet system.  This map follows me.  It will also show other stations within about 15 miles of my current location, as received from APRS Internet servers only (not from RF).

Click Here for 3-map display of WA8LMF's last reported location, including last-time-heard,  using Expedia/MapPoint maps.  This only shows WA8LMF

Other stations can be displayed in this format by using the Stations Heard links below the big map below

Position plots on this map are set to expire and disappear from the map after 2 hours if no new report is received.

The following is a list of all the stations heard on HF from Pasadena, California
(HF side only of KAM dual-port TNC) in the past 180 minutes

PLEASE NOTE:  The lookups below only refer to stations that have been received via HF RF, and that are shown on the map above.

In the log for the webserver, I am seeing endless pointless searches for stations not showing on the map above. It is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME and bandwidth to search for stations NOT on the map.  (With the possible exception of stations in parts of Canada and Mexico that may have been heard, but are just off the area covered by the map.)
